Understanding usage stats for VMFS Datastores

I have a VNXe 3200 connected to a small VMWare cluster.

I have a storage pool 3.9TB in size. As part of this pool, I have VMFS datastore of 2.5TB in size.

VMWare vCentre shows the datastore as being 2.5TB in size with 1.89TB used.

Manually adding up the disc space of all the VMs on the datastore, I get a total of 2TB.

Yet, in the Store Pools list in Unisphere, it shows the storage pool as having a subscription of 121%.

What is the subscription statistic showing? How can a storage pool with 1.4TB free have a subscription of 121%?

Re: Understanding usage stats for VMFS Datastores

NFS, FC or ISCSI ?

Anything else in the pool ?

Snapshots or replication used ?

Thick or Thin LUNs used ?

Could be reservation for snapshots or replication

Re: Understanding usage stats for VMFS Datastores

1 - iSCSI

2 - Nothing else other than one VMWare Data store

3 - No snapshots or replication

4 - Thick provisioning for both data store and VMs in datastore
