Unisphere can no longer manage (SP B).

Hi everyone,

We have VNX5400 (block only) with multiple DAE connected to both BUS-0 and BUS-1.

initially DPE had only one 4x 8Gbps IO card per each SP and we asked to be add one more to each SP.

We shutdown the system, take out all the power cables and connected new "4x 8Gbps IO card" for each SP.

Powered on the device and we start getting two new errors.

first one is what I wrote as title of thread which is "Unisphere can no longer manage (SP B)." and the second one is "DPE (BUS 0 Enclosure 0) is faulted."

After getting these errors, I've shutdown VNX again and after few minutes power it back on and shortly the error related to "BUS 0 Enclosure 0" gone but after few hours it came back.

I checked the "System\Hardware\Storage Hardware" and below is the screen shot.

Checking "System\Network" would show only "SP A".

I can ping both "SP A" and "SP B" but only "SP A setup page" could be open.

"Storage System Properties" showing below information.

And finally it seems "SP A" is able to ping "SP B".

I'd be grateful if anyone can help me with this problem.

Thanks in advance for your kind help and support

Hi,

Thanks for your question about SPB not being able to be managed. You can try reseating the management module. If that doesn’t resolve it you will most likely need to contact phone support. https://dell.to/3aAUfHB
