VNX Architecture
- What is the system Operating sytem for VNX. Is it Windows like the Clariion?
-Is the OS 64-bit?
-Are the VNX storage processors active/active?

Should we expect any challenges migrating an existing host with PowerPath (not using ALUA) from a CLARiiON CX4 to a VNX? Would migrating that host and enabling ALUA during the migration significantly complicate things? Even more importantly, does ALUA work the same on VNX as it did on CLARiiON? We never implemented it on our CLARiiON attached hosts due to the minimal advantage it would give us. If it works more like Active/Active on a Symm though, that would be valuable!

yeah, i mean is it REALLY Active/Active ? A LUN is still owned by one SP and i understand the I/O will be passed from non-owner SP but only in certain situations (paths are down through owner SP). Failover mode 4 has been available since flare 26 ..so is there something new on VNX ?
Thanks

VNX uses ALUA/Mode4 in the same way that CX4 does. The difference is that ALUA/Mode4 is the default in VNX, where mode 1 was the default on CX4.
