VNX Disk Limitation & Adding DAE
I've searched long & hard for a definitive answer to this question & so far I've come up with differing opinions. What exactly will happen if you install an additional VNX DAE that exceeds the total disk limitation? Will the DAE itself function & only the disks that exceed the limit will not function? Will the DAE not work at all? Anyone ever tried this?
I apologize if this has already been addressed, please point me to the right thread if it has & I'll delete this.

Hi,
the DAE will be recognized by the system, but none of the disks in the DAE will be available for use.
I tried it on a VNX5300 where it was 5 (or so) slots away from max allowed. the 15 slot DAE that was added, was recognized, but none of the disks in the DAE was usable because aparently the VNX can only en-/disable an entire DAE at the time.
