VNX for file and iSCSI

I know you should use VNX for block for iSCSI but someone mentioned to me that iSCSI was supported on VNX for file via RPQ.

Anyone have any experience of this RPQ procedure or even know if this is possible.

Thanks in advance.

Yes it is possible – just ask via RPQ

Make sure you include a reason why not to use block ISCSI in the RPQ

Also be aware that its CLI only – the file ISCSI is no longer configurable in the GUI

What are the migration possibilities for Celerra iSCSI to VNX native iSCSI?

Dynamox, just to confirm...the ONLY way to migrate from Celerra iSCSI (file) to VNX iSCSI (Block) is via a host-based copy?

Correct.  Celerra/VNX Replicator will not support Block iSCSI as a target, so your options are limited.  If your host is running EMC PowerPath, you might want to test using PowerPath Migration Enabler for a migration.  Block iSCSI is supposed by PowerPath, but I don't know if EMC supports PowerPath to a Celerra iSCSI file target anymore.  I say, test it our and see if that works!
