VNX port binding
Hi there ,,,
My customer wants to connect with iSCSI connection /Same segment /1024 hosts /4x SP ports .
I have checked Documents ...
But would not find any issue or any other idea my customer to try ...Is there any suggestion for below config ?
This would be NOT Recommended but at least supported .... ? Also Is there any way they can do with other way ?
Also what about 2 ports in SP ? possible ?
This is the config ....
ESX1(Up to 256)
SCSI Port Binding (SPA0:192.168.0.1/24 SPB0:192.168.0.2/24)
ESX2(Up to 256)
SCSI Port Binding (SPA1:192.168.0.3/24 SPB1:192.168.0.4/24)
ESX3(Up to 256)
SCSI Port Binding (SPA2:192.168.0.5/24 SPB2:192.168.0.6/24)
ESX4(Up to 256)
SCSI Port Binding (SPA3:192.168.0.7/24 SPB3:192.168.0.8/24)

Why can't they have a second /24 subnet for secondary iSCSI ? Its not a huge undertaking to add a /24.

thanks for the suggestion ierikson... you are coming from redundancy and workload points of view ...right ?

my point of view is that its easier to follow best practice then do workarounds because the customer/client is not capable of giving you another subnet to work with.
