Hello,
I experiencing some issues with Unisphere Service Manager when i try to use the VNX software download- I always receive "Cannot parse catalog".
Strange thing is- disk firmware I can see via the firmware download- but VNX software no chance ...
Anyone ahs experience on that?

As both are the latest one this should have no issues.
Verify if a proxy is setup. Go to browser and see if you have a proxy set up.
Check proxy settings dialog in USM. Please change it if you have any.
If this is not the case would request you to have a look : http://www.emc.com/collateral/software/white-papers/h8017-unisphere-element-manager.pdf
Go to page 32 and please check weather the configuration is correctly in your existing enviorment.
Thanks

I have no proxy configure- advisories are received and also disk firmware download finds online software.
So communication to public internet should not be the issue from Unisphere management station.
I have Unisphere management station configured with local domain and have currently only one VNX5100 added to local domain- like described in "Setting up Unisphere management station" I have assigned the Management station as domain master.
Unisphere versions are V1.2.0.1.0556 but never the less I start USM on its own and not through the Unsiphere Client.
cheers,
Andy

There is no QoSM installed.
Java versions:
32bit: 1.6.0_31
64bit: 1.6.0_20
I think there is an info regarding a warning if JAVA does not fit during USM install setup- but nothing was displayed regarding JAVA inconsistencies. Also no popup cert box i can remember but under JAVA secure site certs i have colu.emc.com
Unfortunatelly your link to release notes is not working (page has moved ...)

V1.2.0.1.0556 : is QoSM
V1.2.0.1.0554 : is USM
Do you have both configured
The Certificate warning dialog box prompts you to accept the catalog server for the first time after USM is installed. This occurs because by default the colu.emc.com certificate is not installed in Java.
Refference : https://support.emc.com/docu42120_Unisphere-Service-Manager-Release-Notes-Version-1.2.0.1.0554.pdf?language=en_US.
May i know the current java version installed.
Thanks

I am receiving the same error. Looks like a new bug with either the 5.32 release or the 1.2.0.1.0554 release of Unisphere.

works now- seems that this issue was due to EMC download mirrors unavailable
