VNXe3100 10GB IO Upgrade

What are the minimum code requirements to upgrade a VNXe3100 with 10GB IO modules. Is 16GB (8GB/SP) required?

Thank you!

You cannot upgrade the memory of any VNXe array...

So you have what you have to work with when it comes to available memory, period...

You could always replace the array itself. But Alexander is correct memory on the array itself cannot be upgraded. With this being said all you need is the 8GB Per SP to upgrade the IO Modules. This does not mean your performance will go up though. IF your upgrading because of performance the SP may not be able to handle the extra IO because it was not originally sized for the larger IO load.

The VNXe3100 4GB SP memory is upgradable.

My apologies and this is news to me!

I stand corrected...

Charlie, I've been digging around looking for more information on the 10GB upgrade for the VNXe3100 but haven't found anything concrete. Would you be able to provide a part# for the IO module you reference? Are the modules 10GB over copper, or optical?

Thanks in advance.

the only 10G io module for the 3100 is a 2-port 10Gb/s copper Ethernet

probably V2-10GB-ETH-C
