Zoning in Brocade via CLI - required assistance
Hi All,
Consider the below diagram
Server----------connected to switch 1
VNX array--- connected to switch 3
Kindly let me know on which switch should I login to create the zone via CLI.
If I create the zoning by logging in switch 1 , should I need to create any zones on switch 3.
How the data sharing happens between the switchs, is it through the E ports.

Hi Ambii,
Are they in one fabric ? What about Switch 1 & 3 are they ISL ? Switch 2 is core or what ?

Hi,
All the switches are in the same fabric
Switch 1 - Edge switch
Switch 2 - Core switch
Switch 3 - Edge switch
ISL is enabled between the switches

Now you need to determine the connectivity between Storage to the host. Which switch your host & storage is attached to.
The traffic will be defined as per your choice.
It depends on you what all switches within a fabric you want to zone (at the time of defining your zone memebers) with your host & storage. Look on page number 10. Just keeping in mind devices within a zone (zone members) can only talk to each other.
