Boot from SAN ESXi 5.0/5.1 and VPLEX

Hi,

Since GeoSynchrony 5.1 booting from SAN for ESXi 5.0 and 5.1 is supported for "Distributed Device".

Just wanted to know the best practices for implementation.

In this scenario : VPLEX Metro HA Campus with VMware HA (Federated HA) (Cross-Connect Merged (2 HBA ports) / Shared)

VPLEX Cluster Single-Engine config.

ESXi is using PowerPath/VE 5.8.

My ESXi on Site A will see the 2 VPLEX Cluster in the QLOGIC HBA BIOS boot from SAN configuration (Cross-Connect effect).

I will setup up the primary with LUN0 from the local VPLEX and setup up second LUN0 from remote VPLEX -> is it correct ?

If I loose the Back-End storage (VNX in my case) on local VPLEX (from my ESXi point of view) no problem because WAN-COM link will be use -> is it correct ?

If I loose the local VPLEX Cluster (the 2 directors (dual failure)) what will happen ? because of cross-connect and the HBA BIOS config is the boot from san LUN0 will be seen through remote VPLEX Cluster without any ESXi crash ? (VMs will continue to work ?)

Thank you,
