Time finder and SRDF with Vplex local ?

I have lot of questions regarding what can be done and cannot be done with Vplex VS2 local and VMAX 40k.

1) Can we present SRDF R2 devices to hosts through Vplex 1:1 encapsulation assuming SRDF is consistent and split ?

2)Can i present VP Snaps of R2 devices that is in split state through Vplex 1:1 encapsulation.?Can we recreate them later ?

3)What are the limitations of Vplex local with SRDF and time finder , any documentation would be helpful ?

vplex Vs2, geo 5.4.1

vmax 40k

Hi,

Check out this guide: https://support.emc.com/docu59631_VPLEX:-Leveraging-Array-Based-and-Native-Copy-Technologies-Second-Edition.pdf?language=en_US

To answer your questions:

1. Yes - once split, they are R/W and you would claim them like a regular volume and present out to hosts. You would want to make sure you remove them from the storage view and invalidate cache prior to any re-sync

2. Same answer as #1 above with Snaps/Clones

3. The doc is above, and I am not aware of any limits other than the process required to sync/split/re-sync.
