VPLEX SSD lun under VSPHERE 6

Hi all ,

got on my environment an VPLEX 5.4 and metro cluster WITH 2.5 GIGABYTE(20 gigabytes) line between the sites

under the hood got 2*XIO and to role them all (: upgraded to Vsphere 6.

to the point....

is it possible that the vsphere will see the luns as SSD???

is it supported by EMC?

What I have seen so far, I suspect vplex does not expose underlying disk properties out to the frontend. All vplex LUN's seem to look the same to ESX.

However, it is possible to override ESX's automatic claiming setting per LUN. So you can mark presented LUNs of your choice as SSD, and ESX will assume their are actual SSD for all purposes. Perhaps this can help you.
