Vplex FE port ITNEXUS with IBM-AIX NPIV.

From the release note of vplex 5.4.sp1 there is a limit on number of inititators that can be logged in each vplex front end port as 400 [ITNEXUS]. Consider a AIX LPAR using 4 adapters with NPIV. Each adapter will have 2 NPIV wwn's(active and passive). Now when i zone this adapter to say FC0 of DirA Eng 1. How many ITL's will be consumed on the Front end port? Is it 2 or 1 ? I Hope its just 1.

Example of my zone:

HOST1 --  HBA1 --c0:00:00:12xxxxxx12  [active]

                            c0:00:00:12xxxxxx13  [passive]

                            VPXEng1_DirA_FCS0

HOW MANY ITNEXUS will be consumed on this vplex front end port ?

intech  Thanks, thats not great news. So we will lose half of our IT nexus for passive wwns. Has anyone ever reached this limit of 400 IT nexus on a single VPLEX FE port ? Is that a hard limit ? What can i expect once it reaches this limit ?

This is a soft limit. Please look for past post from garyo. I think he addressed this in a past post.

I'm not aware if anyone has crossed the 400 ITL limit. It's a soft limit. It could possibly cause a performance issue. Check with your support team.
