Hi Tim.  With ViPR 2.0, EMC adds 3 key compliance enhancements to address US and international requirements. These enhancements include:

  1. FIPS 140-2.  The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) publication 140.2 is the US government computer security standard for cryptographic modules.  ViPR Controller uses FIPS compliant libraries.
  2. Section 508 Compliant GUI.  This law requires US Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities.  Changes to the ViPR UI make it compliant with this law.
  3. IPv6.  ViPR 2.0 supports 128-bit Internet Protocol addressing for discovery, configuration, and provisioning.

Thanks, Brion
