Dell ESXi 6.5.0.update03 13932383

Hi all,

I have Vmware ESXi 6.5.0U2 running on a T320 Server.

I have tried to update this using "VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update03-13932
383.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A00" offline zip via SSH but get an error "The transaction is not supported:"

The ISO Dell provides does not seem to be bootable so cannot update from that either.

Anyone know the reason for this ?

Hello,

How are you trying to boot to the image? I downloaded the same file and loaded it into the virtual media of a T320 and successfully booted to it. As for the in-place upgrade piece, how much storage space is available on the OS volume? I've seen it be the case where insufficient space would cause that message.

I've just tried to create a VM of ESXi from the ISO and seems to boot

Will try again tomorrow !

Hi

I've tried to boot on virtual media on the iDRAC and told the iDRAC to "boot once", does not boot from vmedia and boots straight into the ESXi on the IDSM

I've also tried USB stick but Etcher reports "This is not a bootable image" I burned the USB anyway but was not bootable.

I used VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update03-13932383.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A00.iso from the update site, also the zip was VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update03-13932383.x86_64-DellEMC_Customized-A00.zip

Not sure how to look at free space on ISDM, does not show up in ESXi (web or SSH)
