Change vOps url in vCenter plugin

We notice that the vCenter plugin of vOps is accessing our vOps server by IP adress which causes certificate warnings. How/where can we change the current https:// url the plugin seems to use in something like https:// ?

Hi there,

When this happens, the easiest method to fix it is to remove the plugin from vCenter manually, by following this process:

First, un-check the vCenter Plugin checkbox within vOPS under the settings->General->Environment tab for the vCenter server in question.

Then follow these steps to remove the plugin from vCenter:

  1. In a web browser, navigate to http://vcenter server name or IP/mob.
Where vcenter server name or IP is the name of your vCenter Server or its IP address
  2. Click Content.
  3. Click ExtensionManager.
  4. Select and copy the name of the plug-in you want to remove from the list of values under Properties.
  5. Click UnregisterExtension. A new window appears.
  6. Paste the name of the plug-in and click Invoke Method. This removes the plug-in.
  7. Close the window.
  8. Refresh the Managed Object Type:ManagedObjectReference:ExtensionManager window to verify if the plug-in is removed successfully.

Note: If the plugin continues to appear, you may have to restart the vSphere Client.

Finally, re-check the plugin box on the vCenter server's entry within vOPS to have it re-install the plugin referencing the new IP address.

In future, before changing the IP of vOPS, remove the checkbox on the vCenter server entry and save.  That will automatically remove the plugin's entry, then you can re-check it after vOPS' IP is updated.
