Adobe Reader & Skye malware alert!

I got 2 separate emails today, both with links that are likely to download malware onto your system. BEWARE!!

The first one says there's an update to Adobe Reader available. It's supposedly from:

Mike Robertson
Customer Care
Copyright 2011 Adobe Systems Incorporated. All rights reserved.
Adobe Systems Incorporated
343 Preston Street
Ottawa, ON K1S 1N4
Canada

The other email says there's an update to Skype software available.

Look carefully at the From email addresses if you get these emails. Both of the ones I got end  in "@hotels.octopustravel.com"

That doesn't mean they won't spoof another email address but it should be an alert that a travel company would be sending out notices for Adobe and Skype updates.

If you want to check for updates, open Adobe Reader on your PC and click Help>Check For Updates. Or go directly to adobe.com. Don't click links in emails!

I presume there's a similar update option in Skype, which I don't use.

Just got another one from @hotels.octopustravel.com. That's 3 and counting...

This one is about Limewire which the email says has shut down so they're offering an "alternative".

Be careful!

The fake update invitations for Adobe Reader and Skype continue to arrive via email.

Now the From email addresses end in:  @kohlernews.com

Caution is recommended..!
