Now this is interesting and funny at the same time.... oh that incorrigible Microsoft! :emotion-11:

Microsoft classifies Google.com as malware

February 16th, 2012 - 09:55 am ET by J. G.

Microsoft’s antivirus solutions have deemed that Google.com is a carrier of malware. A false positive.

While Microsoft is continually promoting their Bing search engine, classifying Google as malware is certainly a radical method.

Not long after the release of updates on February’s Patch Tuesday, Microsoft Security Essentials and Forefront gave Windows users a red warning when trying to access Google.com.

This alert signalled that Google.com was a malicious web site infected by known malware going by the name of Exploit:JS.Blacole.BW, with it therefore spreading an exploit. This certainly raised some concerns, leading to users quitting the Google.com page.

If users continued, the delete option offered by Microsoft’s antivirus… didn’t actually do anything as it was impossible to find the threat. This is with cause, as it didn’t actually exist. Certain users reported access to Google.com as being "blocked" no matter the Web browser being used, even though some comments were slightly contradictory and indicated that this was only the case for Internet Explorer. The problem was quickly corrected.
