Nag, nag, nag...

I am SO tired of being nagged by MacroStupid to upgrade to Win 10.

For third time this week I've just been offered another new update to enable the upgrade to Win 10. I keep hiding them, but -if nothing else- MacroStupid is a persistent pain in the...

I have Win 7, 32-bit, and can't run Win 10 on this PC, so leave me alone!

Ron,

I don't know whether I've just been careful in hiding the optional/recommended updates, but I've not been getting ANY nags, neither on Win7 nor 8.1 ---- hope this post doesn't jinx things!

They pushed KB2952664 on Tues of this week as "optional" and I hid it. They pushed it again today as "recommended" and I hid it yet again.

They also pushed KB3035583 ("Update installs Get Windows 10 app") earlier this week too.

All for Win 7+SP1, 32-bit.

Microsoft pushed KB3035583 for updating to Win 10 again today.  No matter how many times I hide that update, they just don't give up.

LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY! :emotion-39:

It's an ongoing game of "hide and seek" ;-)

They pushed KB2952664 again today:

These diagnostics help determine whether compatibility issues may be encountered when the latest Windows operating system is installed.

And KB3138612

...improvements to Windows Update Client in Windows 7

What's the point of "hiding" updates if MS pushes them anyway?  :emotion-12:

I never was any good at that game. Maybe I should hide behind a Mac..??

They pushed KB3035583 at me again today, 3-24-16, for the umpteenth time.

I hate Microsoft.  :emotion-39:

It's clear they're not gonna give up.   As long as it doesn't auto-install --- and we can hide it (at least temporarily) --- we should be okay.

It will be interesting to see what happens in July (??) when the 1-year deadline on the free offer (potentially) expires...

As long as we don't let updates auto-install.

I expect they'll be bombarding us with these Win 10 updates during June.

Ron, I posted some important information about this, but Dell has blocked my posts for some reason. PM me at SpywareHammer if my post regarding the Never10 utility from Steve Gibson doesn't show up in this forum.

Thanks. I found the app at his site (grc.com) and ran it on my Win 7 PC.

Time will tell if that stops MStupid from trying to make me upgrade to Win 10... :emotion-2:

You're quite welcome, Ron. I've upgraded all my computers except my tablet. I used GWX CP on that. It was getting the icon, but it has not been tested for compatibility, and I don't want to be the one to do the testing.

Let us know how Never10 works out for you.
