Question About Recent Windows Updates.

KB2952664 is 6.7 MB and is a compatibility diagnostic and is listed as Optional.

KB4091290 is 234.9 MB concerning process LSM.EXE and how it interacts with some Anti-Virus software, and is listed as important. Should I allow either update at this point?

Re: Question About Recent Windows Updates.

Personally, I skipped both.

I believe that's the right decision for the optional x2664;   I hope it's a reasonable decision for the "recommended" x1290.

I hid KB2952664 which sounds way too much like their "Get Win 10" thingy that drove users nuts for months and months, even though they deny KB2952664 has any GWX capabilities. But I also wonder how much of our info this KB will be phoning home to MS...?

I installed KB4091290 on my Win 7 Pro PC with no apparent adverse effects, but I only use Microsoft Security Essentials... YRMV.

Re: Question About Recent Windows Updates.

If I were you, Dale, I'd install KB4091290 and skip the optional one.
