Redirected search

I have recently been having issues whenever I do a Google search where the results link takes me to an ad site which is not the link I want. In addition, I have been recently getting an Windows error saying "Windows Host Services stopped working." It tells me to update Windows in order to fix the problem, but everytime I try to update Windows I get an "80072efe" error code. Also, I tried backing up by computer with an external hard drive and that too failed, and I got a "catastrophic failure 0x8000ffff'"message.
