WARNING:  The link for this separate download of the MSRT is now pre-checking a box to also download "MSN default homepage & Bing default search engine".    Be sure to uncheck this, unless you really want it!

Can't get this week's Win 10 (64-bit) updates to download or install on laptop.

WU said updates were available including Flash, Silverlight, MSRT, and 2 Win 10 updates.  It kept stalling out on the downloading, even though I could surf the net so the connection was good. Tried a few things including reboots.

During one of the reboots it said "Wait while updates are installed". But when It booted, the same 5 updates were still being offered.

Finally got MSRT and Silverlight installed, but then it "Can't install other updates because PC was turned off". Clicked the Retry button and it started to download updates but stalled out.

Rebooted and ran Win 10 WU Troubleshooter which said it fixed problems. So I tried to update again, and it's stalled out at 90% - for hours.

Stopped WU from CMD prompt window and tried to empty the Windows/SoftwareDistribution folder, as suggested at various websites, but it won't let me...

Any suggestions?
