Will erasing my hard drive get rid of viruses?
I have a nasty virus that will not even let me log into my computer, I have decided to erase the hard drive, or restore to factory specs. My question is will this get rid of the virus, please help I will like to take care of this ASAP.

Can you please tell me how to erase my hard drive, I can not log into my computer currently, an inspiron 1405, but I can get into the f8 function before windows boots up. Do i need a disc, or what buttons do i need to press. Please and thank you
