Windows will only start in Safe Mode

Yesterday I started having problem with my laptop. It completely shut down to a point that it was just a black screen and wouldnt respond to anything, not even the power button. I took out the battery, but now it will only start up in Safe Mode. If I try to start it normally it goes back to the same black screen and will sometimes respond to the power button. I don't know what to do... I have a Dell inspiron 1525 that runs on Windows Vista home premium
