Worm infects Windows Remote Desktop Services

On 5-14-19, Microsoft released an emergency patch for vulnerable systems including Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2008, and even for out-of-support systems including Windows 2003 and Windows XP to block this worm.

Windows Update should automatically install the update for supported OS, but out-of-support systems need KB4500705 here:

https://support.microsoft.com/help/4500705

I don't see KB4500705 listed as installed on my supported Win 7, 32-bit PC so unless it was included in the May Win 7 Quality Rollup KB4499164, I haven't gotten the update to block the worm. WU only offered me a Microsoft Security Essentials definitions update today (5-16-19).

Windows 8 and Windows 10 are not affected by this vulnerability.

Re: Worm infects Windows Remote Desktop Services

According to this link, it appears the patch for the new worm is included in KB4499164 for Win 7 and Windows Server 2008 .

BTW: While poking around the MS site, it kept offering me Windows Update v8. Anybody install that yet? And any problems?
