Vostro 3900, Power Supply
Good afternoon,
I'm looking at upgrading my PSU in my Dell vostro 3900 mini tower but I dont know if it has a specific type that I need?
Looking at a Corsair VS450 450w PFC 80plus unit. Will this have the cables and right power supply?
I'm handy with computer, just not PSU things. Amy and all help will be appreciated!

if it fits and plugs in to the 2 power jacks it can work. the 450 is short and will not hit dvd drive.
if all rail AMP ratings are equal to or greater than the old one not stated.
the new PSU will have vastly more cables present even GPU aux power cables for higher power GPU.
that yours does not have. and more sata cables and well more..
way better is the ATX like you picked,
your dell needs no adapters like other dells.

as you may know
dell does not publish parts lists ( like HP does, full and extensive,... sad to say.... )
old PC. yours is 2014 , i guess not sold new now, IDK (never seen any dell parts sales for PSU support not new not me.)
so to learn what was offered, you must use ebay, you look there and I see only 1 PSU for this PC then there is only 1. offered by dell.
so you answer is right there on ebay and on completed (check too) on new PC you seen non on EBAY
but if you look at high end dells sold new, they do offer a 2nd larger PSU, new. (800watts on some)
use EBAY.
his PC can use either. (OEM means DELL:, you do know that right?)
I'm looking now at ebay, an shows 300 watt PSU, only for the MT.
3rd party PSU VAST choices, near endless ATX PSU, most work if you do not make the ERROR , using
any rail with less AMPS as the 300w DELL label clearly states. (take photo of it or write it down then shop)

you should be happy you dont have these, with 12v stand by PSU. and adapters needed.
3020,7020,9020 optiplex, or t1700, like me, and all converted easy.
to see if you need adaptors, (some use micro sized 24pin power plug) just google it.
like this "Dell 3020 adapter" see them yes.
then yours see any , no. that simple or do same on ebay, all dells needing an adapter shows hits. every one.

You should choose a good psu in order to maintain good performence

3900 motherboard uses standard EPS 12v power supply.
