Dell Vostro 1014 laptop replacement battery

i just received a replacement battery for a Dell Vostro 1014.  Is it normal for the battery to come in (arrive) with no charge ?  It went in with out a problem.  I plugged in the charger and the light is green.

Yes, it is normal for some batteries to be delivered without any charge. Have you purchased a Dell original battery? 

These are normally not shipped via air & the batteries will be completely discharged before shipped for safety precautions.

Please charge the computer & check in BIOS if the battery & AC adapter is detected fine.
