Vostro 3500 does not start the system, locking on the Dell start screen

Good afternoon,

I have an 8-year old Dell Vostro 3500 and until then I never had a problem, but now it has presented

This error of not connecting getting stuck on the screen with the Dell logo and the instructions for F2 and F12 but that don't work.

I noticed that the only lights on when the crash occurs are the Bluetooth lights and the number 9 lights, which are directly accessed.

When insisting on turning off and on the notebook, there are times when it turns on and works normally.

I was told that it could be the system that was still Windows 7 and it could be something corrupted, but even after formatting and installing Windows 10 the problem continues.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Could you have any idea what it would be?

Since now, grateful

Re: Vostro 3500 does not start the system, locking on the Dell start screen

I would be very concerned that the hard drive is failing or has failed.

When you first turn on laptop, quickly tap F12 several times to get One-Time Boot Menu. Then choose, Run Dell Diagnostics.
