Vostro 5481: Is CPU upgrade possible without changing motherboard?
As per the title, does anyone know if if it's possible for me to upgrade the CPU on my Vostro 5481 (i5-8265u) without swapping out any additional hardware?
With an earlier Dell I owned (Latitude E5450), it turned out that replacing the CPU wasn't possible without swapping out the motherboard as well; I'm trying to determine whether it is the same situation with this Vostro which I will soon be in possession of. I've tried Googling but to no avail, any advice is much appreciated.

The CPU is soldered to the system board - all mobile Intel CPUs are and have been for most of the last 6-7 years (and some before that).
The mainboard must be replaced to upgrade the CPU.

I see, thanks very much for the explanation! That will definitely help with any future purchases; lesson learned I think.
