scaleIO stretch cluster

Hello,

if we check the status of stretch cluster with vsan 6, can we say that scaleIO also support stretch cluster?

I mean we don't have the witness but we can create a single cluster with 3 fault domain. 2 fault domain on the primary sites and 1 fault domain on a secondary site.

Stretched cluster is a replication technology with failover.

If you were to do like you suggested:

create a single cluster with 3 fault domain. 2 fault domain on the primary sites and 1 fault domain on a secondary site.

That would mean that if you lost the primary site, you would have data loss.

Also please note that you never know where data lands, just that the two copies of any data block doesn't land in the same fault domain. Using three separate fault domains, you could then do this. But in a rebuild or re-balance scenario, all nodes need to write with very high bandwidth usage to each other, meaning that your typical WAN link wouldn't suffice or your rebuild and re-balance times will be unacceptably long.
