2NDC 10G Ports to 4 10G Ports

Hello,

we have VxRail that has 4 ports 10G NDC, during deployment we used only 2*10G ports (from each node)  due to switch ports  limitation during initial deployment we used the predefined configuration 2*10G

now

we need to use the 4 ports (the other two ports will be used for VM traffic) could you please advice how to add the other two ports to VDS (should we just add them at distributed switch as uplinks) and for this situation what was better from begging to use custom configuration and mark the other two ports as unused ?

As long as you're not using VMware Cloud Foundation and you're at a recent VxRail version, you can just add the two additional uplinks to the distributed switch and use them for your VM traffic. This will separate the VM traffic from the vSAN traffic, even in the event of a port failure.

There is a rather complicated SolVe document (VxRail Procedures > Miscellaneous > 'How To' Procedures > Change other VxRail cluster settings > How to enable NIC redundancy across NDC-PCIe Ports) showing how to make changes like this, but all of its examples are instructions for moving the system traffic (management, vSAN, vMotion) to new PCIe ports. Your situation is simpler than this.

You could have enabled this configuration at install time with a customized JSON file, but it is not very difficult to make the change as a post-install modification.
