How to prevent Update Manager from patching VxRail hosts with external vCenter?

Customer needs to prevent Update Manager from automatically or by accident patching VxRail hosts. VxRail has an external vCenter Server, and vCenter manages other non-VxRail clusters as well.

In Update Manager, you would create Hosts “Baselines” and “Baseline Groups”. For Update Manager to apply these onto the ESXi hosts, they have to be attached to a “Baseline” or a “Baseline Group”. With this said, make sure the VxRail clusters and ESXi hosts do not have a “Baseline” or “Baseline Group” attached to them.

In addition to above, what other measures can customer implement to avoid Operations team to attach a "Baseline" or a "Baseline Group" to the VxRail cluster or by accident remediate the VxRail hosts from Update Manager.

Is there published documentation that says if I have an external vCenter (6.0) managing a VxRail 4.0 cluster that Update Manager is incapable of remediating patches to the nodes?

I don't thunk we have VxRail mechanism to prevent Update Manager. We have to use vSphere options you pointed above.

About the "incapability" of Update Manager: Technical it is still capable, but since the VxRail upgrade bundle has much more than VMware SW, we have our own way of patching.
