VxRail 4.0 G Series setup

Hello All,

we are setting up our new VxRail G- Series 4.0 with 2 DellEMC S3124 ToR swicthes connected to customer Cisco 2950 series switches uplink. We couldn't reach the VxRail initial ip (192.168.10.200) for setup. we followed the Network physical and logical planning guide.

But one thing we couldn't achieve is to enable IPv6 MLD snooping/and MLD querrier on the VxRail connected ports on DellEMC S3124 switches. The command for enabling MLD snooping was not accpeted on the S3124 switches

Could this be the reason why we couldn't reach the 192.168.10.200? Below is the screenshot of the IP address the esxi hosts are receiving:

Also, VxRail selected VMNIC0 as the management NIC port.

Native VLAN was not used for the management vlan but a specified vlan

Management and VM -Network VLANs were customized  (tagged) on each esxi hosts

Still we can't reach the VxRail.

Kindly help on this.

or setup your host to be able to reach both 192.168.10.xxx and the new VxRail mgr ip. :-)

Steps 5,6 and 7 replace with:

/opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_set_network eth0 STATICV4 10.157.13.XX 255.255.255.128 10.157.13.XX

This will not prevent access to the VxRailManager, but will prevent VxRailManager to discover the ESXi Nodes. Snooping and qurier both have to be aiter enabled, or both disabled.

Hi Mide

1.Add temp a static ip to the ESXi host

2.Connect vi-client to ESXi host

3. Open console VxRail Manager

4. login VxRail Manager with mystic and su -

5. edit /etc/systemctl/ifcfg-eth0

6. edit /etc/systemctl/routes

7. restart eth0 or reboot vxrail manager

8. ping vxrail manager

9. if ok remove static ip from ESXi host.

10. VxRail Manager is still reachable

Cheers!
