BIOS and SA show incorrect model number after service
Long story short,
1. Dell G7 7590 was sent to repair ( LCD was replaced.)
2. Technician also decided to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS and BIOS.
3. Now the Windows system, BIOS 1.12.0 and Dell Support Assistant all show the laptop as G5 5590.
I tried everything like Dell firmware updater, F2 > reset bios. nothing worked.
I ran out of ideas.
(I escalated the support request but it may take few days) so I was wondering if anyone has similar issue and how was it resolved? Or what can be done?
