Dell Foundation Services and Dell Product Registration KILLING my computer

So over the past 2-3 weeks I kept noticing that my battery kept dying even though I would shut it down (yes window > shutdown) the computer with a full battery. The next evening I would power up and see that the battery was at 20% from full charge. This is a BRAND NEW as in <2 months XPS 9550. I checked my event log and WHAT THE H@#$??? It is absolutely filled with Dell Foundation Service and Dell Product Registration events all saying  " Power event Handled Successfully by the service." Clearly it is not.. The stupid things run every 10 seconds. So when I think I am powering down my computer, it is being blocked by these services and actually just going to sleep... but it actually isn't sleeping. Its waking up every 10 seconds. Can anyone PLEASE help me determine the issue. Apparently according to update service everything is up to date.

Dell XPS 15 9550
Win 10
Dell Foundation Services vers 3.1.330 DFSSvc.exe
Dell Product Registration  vers 2.2.38 PrSvc.exe
Dell Update Service vers 1.8.114

Log sample: (note the time... yes i was asleep)

RE: Dell Foundation Services and Dell Product Registration KILLING my computer

Mac_M,

Dell Foundation Service is an application we started installing in the factory to provide specific services facilitating customer serviceability, messaging and support functions.  The future intent is to centralize features from other Dell applications providing a more seamless, easy user experience. It may exhibit high memory usage during normal operation. Other users have uninstalled from there system. This is up to you and to remove it from your computer are steps below.

You can uninstall Dell Foundation Services from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
  1. On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
  • Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall a Program.
  • When you find the program Dell Foundation Services, click it, and then do one of the following:
  • Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall.
  • Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove Dell Foundation Services.

Actually you don't have to uninstall this as described above, instead just stop and disable the service.

Go to windows SERVICES - depending on your operating system version you can do this by right-clicking your 'my computer' icon and selecting 'manage', or via some other method. Google 'windows services' for help.

Scroll down the list of services which are typically sorted alphabetically and you should find an entry 'Dell Foundation Services'.

Stop the service. Then choose 'properties' and enter 'manual' or 'disable' to prevent it from running automatically when you next restart your computer in the future.

This way the program will remain on your computer should you ever need it, but it will not automatically run and perhaps cause problems.

RE: Dell Foundation Services and Dell Product Registration KILLING my computer

I have an Alienware 15R2 running Windows 7 professional that was just over one year old when the battery stopped charging to full capacity. Once it reaches about 66% it just stops. It will say plugged in, not charging. I have tried to power cycle it by allowing it to auto shut off once it reaches a critical low then leaving it off to fully charge overnight but still cannot get it to charge above 79% My machine does not have the DELL foundation service installed and was wondering if it might address this issue?
