Inspiron 11 Windows 10 Fresh Installation stops on 1% preparing files

Hi,

I have an Inspiron 11. I format hard drive and try to install Windows 10 from USB

I  Scandisk to usb to check any physical error.

Every time i try to start installation, windows 10 stops on 1% on the initial phase of

Preparing files to install

I had load initial configuration on BIOS, and try to format again the hard drive from windows 10 installation USB,  without any change on the issue.

I could let it 10 hours on that 1% without any further change on the state. Every time stays on 1% without moving on 2%

I had read some post about that without finding any further reference to a similar issue.

Any help or test you would like me to do to resolve these issue would be good and gives thank to you.

You should be using USB 2.0 OPTICAL drive and DVD.

There are no fixes for Physically bad hard drives.

The items listed below work with ANY dell from 2006 to now.

Just begin the installation process and install Windows 10 like you normally would. One of the first screens you’ll see will ask you to enter your product key so you can “Activate Windows.” However, you can just click the “I don’t have a product key” link at the bottom of the window and Windows will allow you to continue the installation process.

I had seen the same answer to other issue related windows 10 installation, but with no relation with these issue.

You always says exactly the same thing, about resolving the issue buying a usb hard drive.

You are not answer the question I post. Please do not answer a post if your post is about selling dvd hard drive with no relation with the specific issue.

The dvd and optical drive are specific to windows 10 installation.

Thats why its a USB 2.0 drive.

Preparing Files sticking at 1 percent means the drive you are installing to is physically bad.

hoping this thread is not to old

I have the same issue on a Dell Inspiron 11 with a Windows 10 reinstall that stalls at copying files 1%. Did you ever resolve this issue? the Bios appear functional and all test show hardware okay, but on startup I get No Boot Device found. the Solid State chip hard drive checks okay.
