Inspiron 15R N5010, Windows 10
Has anyone upgraded that machine to Win 10 from Win 7? Did you experience any problems? Everything works fine?

Ya the problem is with the flickering login screen that only stops with continuous blast of alt+ctrl+del to allow me to enter the password.
next the sound is out. IDT codec doesn't work. N5010 is not supportive however, the compatibility showed 100% success but the failure seems to be an understatement at best.
Multiple operations are not supported.

I eventually downloaded the Bluetooth driver from Lenovo, and that seemed to at least allow occasional use of bluetooth. The audio dropping out between headphones and speakers seems to be a peskier issue. It required uninstalling the audio driver and letting it re-install. <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU>

KS,
Yes, I upgraded. Things appeared to be working fine, but after a few issues I eventually downgraded back to Windows 7. Windows 10 did strange things to my N5010's audio driver and bluetooth and rather than fight with it constantly, I reloaded Windows 7 (A process which had it's own issues, but I digress.) On the whole, I wouldn't advise anyone to fix what isn't broken with their N5010 on Win7, but that's just me and my experience.

I did... I updated Win7 Home Premium to Win !0 on Sep 30.. Everything went fine..
1) 3 days back after some update my internal speaker stopped working.. Troubleshooting detects nothing both using troubleshooting in windows and troubleshooting in Dell(Fn+Power button).. no errors found.. Headsets working fine..
Groove music says"Can't play" We can't dind an audio device for your PC.

2) Virtual Router Manager not working in Win10.
Do you need anything specifically to be tested?

P A,
No, I don't. As I said I went back to Windows 7 and am happy there. Too many odd things happening. Spotify wasn't working right at all, headphones sometimes, speakers others. Too much unknown.

I have. Upgrade worked fine and I have used it without problems for a few weeks. But now I somehow have serious issues with the video card drivers. I have an Ati HD 5000 card. Whenever either manualy installed or automatic installed I get very serious problems. My laptop isn't usable anymore. The only solution so far is to startup in safe mode and delete the AMD drivers. After that I have disabled windows 10 automatic update. So now I can use it "without" GPU drivers.
Not realy a solution....

one more thing please: if I will not find windows 10 drivers on the vendor's websites, should I use the generic/general drivers which 0x80071a90 windows10 will install or better stick with windows 7?

Please read fully.
Yes, i updated long back. it is working.
But today (Indian date 9th May 2022) I had a problem....not with windows 10, but with sound AFTER I DOWNLOADED DRIVERS OFFERED BY DELL! Sound failed.
However when I reversed all, it was ok.
I understood now, not to update anything thro Dell site anything FOR THIS MODEL N 5010! Just use only windows update for everything!
Laptop works perfectly
