Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and Management Console Driver update failure

It could be the System Setup(BIOS) is outdated, therefore I'd suggest following the instructions in link below to safety installed the latest BIOS version onto the system.

Windows 10 is on the system? Also, is Dell Update utility installed on the system?

Please select Repair:

I'm assuming windows 10 is on the system....

Please type Setting onto the [Cortana] search box, select Apps,  click Apps & features, click on Dell Update and then Modify.

You can either select Change, Repair, or remove Dell Update:

Thanks for your response. My BIOS is up to date, so there must be another issue preventing the drivers from updating.

If repair doesn't fix the problem, I suggest you uninstall Dell Update and then reinstall the latest version of Dell Update from your Dell Product Support page. Please type Application onto the keyword search box in the link below:

You can download the latest drivers directly from:

downloadcenter.intel.com/.../Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-

and then install it.

I had this issue several times and finally figured out what was happening today.

SupportAssist was trying to download and install the following file on my system:

Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-F6-Driver_8X2Y1_WIN_16.7.1.1012_A01.EXE

Unfortunately, the appropriate install package file name is:

ntel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-F6-Driver_8X2Y1_WIN64_16.7.1.1012_A01.EXE

Note the difference in bold - my system is 64 bit, not 32 bit, and the file it was trying to install was a 32 bit driver.

I have one system (older) which is currently running the Storahci.sys drivers for my SATA controller.  It will not install the Intel Drivers.  Probably due to the iastora.sys situation which as been going on.

Make sure you are not trying to install the Optane memory drivers since one download is specific to that.

Old chipsets do not allow using the latest versions of intel RST especially version 11 12 13 14 15 16 (17.5.2.1024)

Better download the RST drivers now.

INTEL will be deleting these files FOREVER in less than 8 days.

I found this issue on MANY Dell systems. The fix I found was to manually install that driver directly from Dell support site. support.dell.com, enter service tag, search for Intel rapid, download listed driver and install.

Once installed dell command sees as it as up to date and won't list it.
