Unable to Make clean install in any way
I have inspiron 17 7000 and tried to upgrade to win10 pro, but the key was not activated
, so I want to make a clean install to downgrade to windows home, I used "Microsoft media creation tool" on a usb but I received error messges:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style."
I tried some solutions but received:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
Then I used "Dell Recovery Tool" and a new usb, but If I tried to boot from usb "Legacy External Devices" it says after restarting: "no boot device found", and when tried "UEFI > Add Boot Option" says: "name not found".
I restored default Bios setting and tried f12 but usb choice is not in the list.
When restart and don't press anything it take me to "SupportAssist OS Recovery", in this screen reset is not active so I have choosed onlien "Reset and update" but "reset failed" for several times when reached 65% or less!
What can I do? There is no OS on the laptop now and cannot use it !

There is no such thing as "downgrade to windows home".
Systems without PRO COA do not have downgrade rights.
You need a USB2 optical drive and an OEM system builder DVD
You then F2 change bios to SECURE BOOT OFF.
Then F12 will allow you to boot from the DVD.

When you go from home to Pro, you have to purchase a license and get the key. Once you do that, you may be able to just enter the new key on the Activation settings page.
You cannot use a full Win 10 Pro install media unless you do a clean install.
Installs are done based on the way you boot your install media. If it is a UEFI install then the drive is configured as GPT so the media has to be booted as UEFI. If you are getting the "this drive is GPT" then you are booting incorrectly.
Also, UEFI media has to be inserted prior to an initial boot or restart, otherwise it will not be read correctly.
How are you making the USB drive you are using?
All activations are done from online and may take a few days. Once update to Win 10 Pro, that info is kept online also and I don't know how to roll it back to home..
