Windows 10 2004

Has anyone installed the new version of Windows 10? I downloaded ISO last night and already upgraded. It seems to be working good. I cannot tell any difference really. Only thing I noticed is it stold the IE icon off the desktop (I have a registry hack to add it) And it stold my Start is back program I have to reinstall.

I do not know what you mean by "stold".

Articles that I have read indicate that there are issues with Windows 10 2004. I would wait at least a couple of months until these issues are resolved. https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-2004-were-already-looking-into-these-10-issues-says-microsoft/?ftag=TRE-03-10aaa6b&bhid=22325645616361655772278415828202&mid=12853938&cid=717867811

My "stold" I mean the icon was removed. Removed taken from me without my permission. Take something from someone it means you stold it. LOL the word "stold" is just southern slang.

I was running Windows 10 version 1909 and I installed version 2004 yesterday on my Dell Latitude E7440 and had lots of issues. The system would freeze for 10-20 minutes totally unresponsive to mouse and keyboard. When it came back the task bar would to "not responding". My Bluetooth mouse and keyboard would not connect. The system was unusable. Thankfully I created a System Restore Point before I installed it but when I finally got into system restore it got "stuck" at "Preparing...". After about 2 hours I got a message saying something about the "writers" timing out. I found an article online that suggested running system restore from safe mode (it's running right now). Because the system was unstable I couldn't restart in safe mode the usual way and I found an article from Microsoft about ways of restarting in safe mode (link below). The option that worked for me was restarting from the "Sign On" screen. I hope this works! The bottom line, my suggestion is to wait on version 2004 and check out Dell's website and forums for you model computer and see what is being reported.

Similar results on a Latitude 7490.  Only solution was to revert back to version 1909.

@Anonymous

I have Windows 10 Pro, Version 2004, installed on both my XPS 15 7590 laptop and my XPS 8930SE desktop.  I have Malwarebytes Premium installed along with Bitdefender Total Security 2020 on both computers.  There were issues with Malwarebytes Premium, which Malwarebytes is actively investigating, involving system instability and performance issues.  I have done the recommended "work-arounds" until the issues are fixed.  Other than that issue, I have had no problems at all with Version 2004.

Just my experience, so far.  Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil

That is good but since I upgraded I am getting some dll error has to do with Intel Octane memory. I do not even have Intel Octane memory. There may be an option for it in the BIOS I will have to check.

Depending on what version of Intel RST you're using at present, it may be worth trying to update to the latest Version: 17.9.1.1009

DO NOT INSTALL

I had to reinstall windows to remove it after it made my XPS 15 completely unstable.

Windows rollback tool did not fix the issues 2004 caused.

Glitching on keyboard, mouse, screen.

No crashes or data loss,  though it made machine unusable.
