Have a brand new just delivered yesterday Win 8.1 Inspiron 15/7000 laptop. Completed Windows 10 upgrade this morning, Win 10 disabled Inspiron 15/7000 Touch Screen. Where do I go to re-enable touch screen?
Same issue. After Windows 10 upgrade, touch screen does not work, even though driver says it is current (HID - Touchscreen).
Dell Inspiron 15/7548
Driver Version: 10.0.10240.16384
Logged out and logged back in. Then it worked. Touch Screen.
I spent considerable time futzing with the Tablet format. Didn't like it as much, and I have a Win8.1 tablet, too!!!
Have the same system (7548), I'm ready to upgrade, cleaned the system up and took a complete disk backup. I'm thinking I'll wait until after the weekend to upgrade. See if this problem is common or what else may crop up from people waiting until the weekend to upgrade.
Please let us know if you get an answer or figure a work-a-round.
One question, do you have the 4K screen?
Yes 4K screen. I also had the internal_power_error issue that is reported since it loads the wrong graphic driver, but this forum fixed that issue thankfully.
Hmm, logged in this morning and the touch screen is magically working. Maybe it was logging out and in, maybe an update.
I have a inspiron 17-7000, and have the same problem: Touchscreen just stopped working. I do not see any "touchscreen" drivers in Device Manager, or anywhere else.
Has anyone actually fixed this problem? If so, how?
I ran into this problem today and fixed it with a BIOS update. Windows 10 seems to be VERY sensitive to BIOS issues as I have run into such odd things before.
I have the same problem with a brand new Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series. The touch scree worked fine for a few weeks and then stopped! I am very disappointed, particularly since this is such a common problem on a heavily advertised feature that Dell Management does not step forward and offer solutions.
