XPS 8700 won't create recovery drive

I've just bought a 32 GB  usb stick, to create a Windows 10 recovery drive. I checked the option "Backup system files". All seems well, but after a few minutes, Windows comes up with an error message: Unable to create recovery drive. No details about the error whatsoever.

I've also done a sfc /scannow check. No problems found. Any ideas?

Wouter60,

Which program are you using to backup system files? If you are using the DellBackup and Recovery program that is installed on your computer you will need to upgrade to the Windows 10 version.

Dell Backup and Recovery 1.8

For information using Windwos 10 backup click the link below.

I'm using the Windows 10 built-in tool for creating a recovery drive. I have this computer since January 2016. It was shipped with Windows 10 Home 64 bits.

Wouter60,

Click the link below for information that may help you. If your computer has the Dell  Backup and Recovery program use it. It may be easier. Windows 10 tools sometimes are messed up untill they fix them with updates.
