"The update installer operation is unsuccessful" - Windows 10 64bit on Inspiron 15 (5547, Early 2014)

Hi

I recently installed Windows 10 Enterprise Eval build 10240 (64bit) on my Inspiron 15 (5547, Early 2014) but when I try to install drivers all drivers give me this error: "The update installer operation is unsuccessful".

Without drivers laptop is useless and I am in so much trouble.

So please fix your drivers for Inspiron 15 (5547) and check them on same laptop with same version of windows before uploading on your database.

Thanks

What driver are you trying to install in particular and what hardware IDs do you have?

Thank you Philip for your help.

Only first 4 drivers are working correctly other drivers (Realtek Audio, Realtek Ethernet, Intel 3160, Intel BT, Dell Touchpad Driver) are still giving the same error.

Actually problem is in extraction process these drivers are not correctly compressed in .EXE format.

What file sizes are all your downloads?

August 14th, 2015 00:00

I solved the problem.

I use "universal extractor" to extract .EXE files correctly. Once these files are correctly extracted I simply click on "setup" and install all drivers.

Thank you Philip for your time and effort.

My software updater is broken, too.

Will these downloads work with a dell laptop that was not tested for windows 10?

When upgrading to W10, I lost BT and stable printer (HP L7780 AIO) capabilities... cannot install any drivers or remove old printer software; BT icon doesn't even show up in device manager list or in "settings" and the switch is greyed out under the airport mode page of "settings".

I really need a solution to these problems.  I never thought dell would abandon its customers... [:'(]

Ran into the same problem with Win7 & Win 10 Pro on Dell laptops. I copied the files off my USB thumb drive to the desktop and ran the various driver updates.  On both OS platforms the drivers installed without further issue.  Don't know why this issue is happening but it seems to correlate with the most recent Dell driver updates. (End of 2016 - Early 2017)   Hope this helps.

Hi, I use Windows 10 and get the same issue.

I found solution: copy the file on your desktop and retry --> it's ok --> like a funny trick (???)

I think this is because Windows block .exe file from running on non-system drive.

TO: Dell support: pls fix!

Old versions of windows 10 are now end of life.

The update installer operation is unsuccessful.

means that the driver is not certified to run on the current 1909 version of windows and possibly never was.

Older versions of wifi and USB3 and INTEL Graphics WILL NOT INSTALL.

Make sure there are no spaces in the file path. Any folder or file name with spaces in it can cause some programs and installers to malfunction.
