removing a search engine bar

i recently bought dell inspiron 2 in 1 with windows 10 on it.  at the top of the screen there is a bar that has internet explorer symbol on left  with 'search the web' box for entering what you want to serch.  on the right hand side of the bar are three icons for facebook, music, and to play videos.  there is no 'x' to close this and i can find no way to remove it.  i have ni idea why it is there and i dont want it.  how can i remove it?
