m15 R3, i7-7820HK CPU, Windows 11 compatible?
Hello,
I have a 15 R3 with a Intel Core i7-7820HK CPU purchased in 2018. A stickie post in this forum states that m15 R3 laptops have been tested as compatible with Windows 11. I understand that only 8th gen processors and more recent ones are compatible.
Given that list of supported processors, I assume that my laptop is NOT compatible. Does anyone disagree? Perhaps the stickie post should be edited to include processor versions?
Thanks.

Hi @MachineStrength why are you asking this Windows 11 pc health check question for your Alienware 15 R3 laptop?

@crimsom because the stickied post says that m15 R3 laptops are compatible with Win 11, when probably only some of them are: those with 8th-gen processors and up. And MS removed the pc health check for updating.

my 17R4 has the same processor and it very and I mean VERY happily runs Windows 11. According to the github built version of the PC Health Check (New GitHub app details precisely why your PC cannot upgrade to Windows 11 | Windows Central) it's only the CPU that is 'suspect'.
I have a suspicion that the telemetry from all the non-compatible machines will allow MS to properly focus in on the CPUs that work.
