Can't find Win 8 Product Key
Hello,
I bought a Dell Vostro Laptop 2 years back. The OS corrupted and I need to repair/reinstall the OS now. It seems that there is a recovery partition in the Laptop but I am unable to reach there.
Can you help me with the procedure to use the Recovery Partition? I want to use it because otherwise I will end up losing all the data on my system.
Also, when I try to reinstall the OS, it asks me for the Product key. I heard the Key now resides inside Motherboard and I can't access it. How to move ahead with the Installation now when I don't have the key? Can Dell send it to me Privately?
Regards,
~Siddharth

Dell don't have any record of the product keys... You should perform data recovery using Fedora:
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/data-recovery-using-fedora/
Then you should clean install Windows 10 TH2:

With Windows 8.x and Windows 10 the key is Edition Locked and you need to ensure you install the correct Edition. I advise installing Windows 10 TH2 as soon as possible in order to get your free upgrade. Microsoft state they will end the free upgrade in less than 2 weeks.

I am still waiting for Official Dell Representative to answer my query. I spoke to Microsoft support and they said that Dell will provide me with the Key. I can send the Service Tag number for verification. Please reply asap.
