Dell Inspiron 1110 netbook drivers, which specific ones from support site?

Hello,

By process of trial and error, I figured out some of the correct drivers for my inspiron 1110 netbook (service tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.However, it is clear to me that the wireless internet does not work at all. The problem is that there are so many different wireless related drivers on the support website that I do not know which one. Although I narrowed it down by OS (Windows Vista Basic x32) and selected to view all relevant drivers for my netbook, I am still clueless as to which one will be the right one even after installing them all. (I checked the BIOS and the wireless is set to active along with the rest of the hardware so that isn't it.)

2 other things I found that did not have drivers in the device manager are: the network controller and the SM bus controller.

I saw a listing of the essential drivers for my computer in another thread but it didn't direct to the specific drivers on the website here.

I just reinstalled Vista Basic on this machine and at least have my ethernet connection working. However, it just isn't a portable device without wireless connectivity.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

May I know the operating system installed on the computer?

Please let me know the wireless card installed on the computer?

Do follow the steps below to check which network card you have in the machine:

  • Right click computer icon on the desktop.
  • Select Manage.
  • Select Device Manager from the right pane of the window that opens.
  • Expand Network adapters from right pane.
  • This will list the network card installed in the machine.

With the correct version of operating system and the Device Id for the network card I can find the driver for the network card.
