Latitude E4310 WIndows 8 64 bit: SD card not functioning properly. Driveletter shows but hangs, as is diskmanager.
It showed up under devicemanager as an SD card. It had windows drivers. Made a topic en.community.dell.com/.../19470859.aspx
Drivers replaced with RICOH_R5U24X_A04_R263985.exe. Waited half an hour. Rebooted whilst not finished. Laptop got stuck and recovered :). Device is now under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers\Ricoh PCIe SD/MMC host controller but it reads SD cards again. Devicemanager pops up portable devices when inserted. Works!
My LATITUDE E6500 worked without error out of the box Clean install Windows 8.
2 Devices show up as ! one is Base System Device. Latest INTEL Mobile Chipset 9.X.X fixed that.
The other Device is Broadcomm USH. Really don't care if TPM (Fritz Chip) works Tried version after version of Dell Control Point and Security Suite to no avail. A18 version DOES NOT WORK.
Just now I checked the device manager: There four have yellow exclamatory mark:
2. Dell wireless 5600
3. Intel (R) WiMAX link 5150
4. Network controller
You will need install some Windows 7 drivers I think:
Try from the Latitude E6530 Windows 8 Drivers:
Or Windows 7 driver for Latitude E6400 if the above fails (let me know if it pass/fails):
Windows 7 driver:
Can try Windows 8 driver of the 5630 (again if it works, let me know):
Windows 7 driver:
The Broadcom USH you can try this, not sure if it will work but let me know:
The Windows 7 driver A18 as mentioned by Speedstep above A18 doesn't work:
Was looking at Broadcom:
I have a Vostro 3500 and I am quite amazed, that my system is not supported for Windows 8.
After running windows upgrade manager (which doesn't tell me that I'm going to have problems with my system) I'm not able to get a working driver for my intel hd graphics. Some programs tell me that they need an acceleration or Direct 3D. I tried to install the actual drivers published by intel for my graphic card and windows 8, but they won't let me install and say "System is not complying minimum requirements". I installed them without update manager afterwards but still Direct 3D and Open GL won't work. So please tell me when there will be a driver which solves my problem or if there is an existing software solution.
Everything else works fine with Windows 8 (as far as I could see until now)
Found the 64 bit Broadcomm Unified Security Hub Driver for my E6500.
Broadcomm USH run as admin compatibility Vista SP2
Thank you very much for your response,
Out of the above drivers mentioned, only Broadcom USH got successfully installed. Rest of other were unsuccessful. The message says that "No Intel drivers found on your computer" etc.
Please let me know if there are any other options,
Even the Windows 7 drivers didn't work?
For the WiMax 5150 try Intel directly:
I updated my previous post. The vista Drivers worked fine for My E6500. The Broadcomm USH driver was the missing piece.
I just installed Windows 8 Pro 64 bit on my Dell XPS L501X. At the same time I installed a new Crucial CRM4256SSD 256GB m4 Solid State Drive. Everything seems to be working OK. There is only one unknown device. Here are the details:
Can you tell me what this is and what driver should be installed? Thank you.
