Getting Windows 8.1 to run my Dell 2713H at 2560x1440 - help needed

Hi All - Hope this is the right place to post, if not lmk.

I upgraded to Windows Pro 8.1 today from Windows 8 Pro but lost my custom resolution of 2560x1440 for my extended display monitor (Dell 2713H).  When I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro (from Windows 7 Ultimate) I had to insert the resolution into the registry using this method (here), however that no longer works since upgrading to 8.1.

I have a Dell Studio 1558 (ATI HD 5500 video card) with HDMI out to my Dell 2713H monitor.

So I got it to finally work. See proof here: http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/9600/oe98.jpg I should have started with the AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher [because it was what made the whole thing work! I started with adding the resolutions to the registry using this method here - when that didn't work I went to the Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) tool - which when that didn't work (at first) I tried the AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher (as noted above). http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher
