Trying to restore via factory usb key back to 8.1 Pro
I have a Precision M3800 and had to wipe everything on the drives and load Windows 7. I need to go back to the factory 8.1 Pro image and received a recovery usb from Dell but when I boot to it the installation of Windows 8.1 starts but then asks for a key? I don't have a key as it should be in my bios. Now I am trapped using a trail version of 8.1 Enterprise until I can get the USB from Dell to work. Any ideas? I am desperate.
Thank you!

It appears there are no Dell programs on the usb stick they provided to me? Just Windows 8.1 which won't load because it asks for a key that is supposedly in my bios?

Hi,
I am in the same situation as you right now. Unfortunately I was told that the USB stick they provided is for Windows 8 NOT Windows 8.1. You should ask for the Windows 8.1 recovery disc if your laptop has an optical drive since the USB stick for Windows 8.1 still isn't available as of this past Friday.
